God’s Discipline…!

After a couple weeks “off”, we’re back at it this coming Friday, DEC 2 for the third attribute of our current study of God’s Model for Fatherhood….”God’s Discipline“. Some of you might notice that we’ve made a slight change to the title for Lesson 3….previously, we’ve referred to it at “God’s Justice”.  Once again, we’re calling an audible at the line of scrimmage!

The study notes and questions for your preparation ahead of time are shown in the Resources section of the website.  The Biblical readings and questions are designed to guide you in your study this week.

As always, please gather at 7:30 am at The Cornwell Center.  Jon Pascal will lead us this week starting at 7:45 am.

Lastly, keep our brothers, Mike and Jason, in your thoughts this week as they are both traveling to El Salvador on a mission trip.  They will be building a Habitat home in a small village in the western side of the country as well as participating in broader efforts to build up this Central American community.

Peace!

Being Thankful!

No FMMF this Friday as many of us will be traveling for the holidays.  Blessings to you and yours this Thanksgiving season!

We will meet on Friday, DEC 2nd at the Cornwell Center where Jon will lead us in the next portion of our current series….a discussion on “God’s Justice”.

Peace!

“Fatherhood” as demonstrated in the Bible

We’re back at FMMF Charlotte this week after a week off.  Our current study leader, Jon, has had a last minute change at work this week, so we’re taking a side-step, briefly, from our study on God’s Model for Fatherhood series.  Instead, I’ll lead us this week to talk about “Fatherhood” as demonstrated in the Bible?

Who are some of the more famous characters in the Bible that we elevate as the best examples of fatherhood?  What differentiates them from others and what sets them apart from the bad examples?

Take some time the remainder of this week to research the following Biblical characters:

  • Adam
  • Noah
  • Abraham
  • Isaac
  • Jacob
  • Moses
  • King David
  • Joseph
  • God, the Father

We’ll gather at starting at 7:30 am, ready to start our discussion at 7:45 am.  See you then!

Peace!

Celebrating our Veterans this Week

Our Friday Morning Men’s Fellowship team here in Charlotte is made up of several veterans from our nation’s military.  As such, we will be taking this Friday “off” in observance of Veteran’s Day.  Honor our veterans through prayer and gratitude on Friday and throughout the year!

We’re back at it next Friday, NOV 18th, where Jon will lead us in “attribute number three” of our current study, God’s Justice.

Peace!

A Father’s Selfless and Sacrificial Love

Welcome to November!

Last week, we kicked off our new series of God’s Model for Fatherhood with the attribute, “God’s Presence”.  This week, we’re tackling the second attribute:  God’s Love.  The lesson notes for this week are on the Resources page for this website.  We encourage you to carve out some time to read the recommended passages in scripture and the discussion questions that follow.  This week’s scripture takes us through several books of the Bible, including Jeremiah, Hosea, Luke, John, Romans and 1 Peter.  How does God show us His selfless and sacrificial love?  How is this an example for us in “Fatherhood”?

Join us this week in fellowship, beginning at 7:30 am at The Cornwell Center front parlor.  Jon will kicks things into gear beginning at 7:45 am.  Rumor has it that someone in our group is celebrating his birthday on Friday…..!  Wonder who that is?

Have a great rest of the week!

Peace!
